Police approve Pakatan,s 'Malaysia Day' Gathering

Police have issued a permit to the Selangor government and Pakatan Rakyat to hold a gethering at the Kelana Jaya Stadium here today to commemorate Malaysia Day.
State Police Chief DCP Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said yesterday the organisers had made the application for a permit to Petaling Jaya Police Chief ACP Arjunaidi Mohammad who approved it. He said police will maintain security at the gathering and have briefed the organisers on traffic and crowd management.
"We found their application to be in order and so we have allowed the gathering. Those intending to hold gathering must apply for permits," he said after launching a Balik Kampung crime-prevention campaign organised by Subang Jaya residents at the Summit USJ shopping complex.
Among those present were Subang Jaya assembltwoman Hannah Yeoh, Subang Jaya police chief ACP Zainal Rashid and Transparency International Malaysia president Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam.
